A raspberry flavoured smoothie with a mild undertone of citrus and sweet beets. The added pineapple helps to improve digestion and the avocadoes make the smoothie extra creamy.
Beet Raspberry Smoothie
Ingredients Makes: 4 servings
1/2 cup plain yogurt
2 banana, medium sized
3/4 cup raspberries, fresh or frozen
1 beet, medium sized, peeled and chopped
1/4 cup avocado, fresh or frozen
1/4 cup pineapple, fresh or frozen
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup purified water + 1/4 cup purified water
Optional Health Boosting Ingredients
• 2 tbsp of unflavoured vegetarian protein powder
⁃ Good for vegetarians and body builders.
• 2 tbsp wheat germ or oat germ
⁃ Superfoods that offers many health benefits for everyone and completely dissolves.
• 1 tbsp finely ground flax seed
⁃ A superfood that offers many health benefits for everyone. Coarser flax is detectable in smoothies.
• 1 tbsp of unflavoured green superfood powder
⁃ This blend of superfoods offers many health benefits for everyone; will alter flavour if more than a tablespoon is added.
Combine all ingredients in a blender except for half of the water (1/4 cup); puree ingredients until smooth. Slowly add the remaining water if the smoothie is too thick, until a desired consistency is reached. Smoothies can be drank immediately or stored in a refrigerator to be enjoyed throughout the day. If all ingredients are fresh and none were frozen, then a few ice cubes can also be added to chill the smoothie.
